Works without signal The variety data ships with the app, so it answers in a carpark where the mobile signal doesn't.

Durian is bought under pressure. You’re standing at a stall, the uncle is waiting, and the difference between Mao Shan Wang, Black Thorn, D24 and XO is several hundred dollars and a lot of regret. Durian Guide is the reference you can actually consult in that moment.

How it’s built

A native SwiftUI app for iPhone and iPad, with MapKit for the stall locations and a unit and UI test suite alongside. The variety data ships with the app, so it works at the stall whether or not the mobile signal does — which, in the right carpark at the right hour, it often doesn’t.

The design work — icon, splash screens for both iPhone and iPad, and the full screen set — was done as part of the build rather than bolted on afterwards.
